How long does SeaDek last?

Well-installed SeaDek easily lasts 7-10 years of Miami sun. Heavily-used areas like step treads may need touch-up sooner. Failure usually shows as edge peeling, which is often repairable without full replacement.

Will SeaDek damage my gelcoat?

Not when installed properly. The adhesive is designed to release cleanly when removal is done with proper solvent. DIY removal with scrapers can scar gelcoat, which we avoid with correct technique.

Can I install SeaDek over existing non-skid?

Yes in most cases. Non-skid diamond pattern surface bonds well with SeaDek adhesive after proper surface prep. Heavily textured or painted non-skid may need smoothing first.

How do I maintain SeaDek?

Soap and water. No special cleaners needed. Avoid solvent-based cleaners which can attack the foam. Pressure washers on low setting are fine. For deep cleaning, soft brush and mild detergent work best.

Why SeaDek on a Miami Boat

Custom Pattern Design

SeaDek comes in dozens of colors and brushed finishes. We work with you on pattern design: single-color simple, two-tone with accent seams, full color-blocked, or artistic patterns. Custom logo inlays (boat name, hull number, fishing team logo) are CNC-cut and inlaid into the main sheet.

Installation Process

Measurement and templating: We template every surface to be covered. Complex curves get cardboard or paper mockups first.
CNC fabrication: Templates fed into CAD, cut on CNC. Precise fit, clean edges, no freehand trimming.
Surface prep: Every surface gets cleaned, solvent-wiped, and lightly scuffed for proper adhesion.
Install: Peel-and-stick adhesive with manufacturer-spec pressure applied. Small sheets roll on clean; large sheets require 2-person install to avoid bubbles.
Cure and final trim: Cure overnight, then any final trim work at edges and bevels.

Old Flooring Removal

Removing old or failing EVA flooring is messy work. Residual adhesive usually takes aggressive solvent and mechanical scraping to remove cleanly without damaging gelcoat underneath. We have the right solvents and technique to pull old SeaDek off without scarring the deck.

Lead Time

Custom patterns typically 2-3 weeks from template to install. Standard repeats (helm pad, swim platform) available sooner. We template first, fabricate, then schedule the dockside install once material is ready.
